For any gta v players around, the political satire and social commentary in gta v would now be the better option than reality. Don’t forget to Vote yes for medicinal cocaine !

Even though OP specified it’s a real tweet, I honestly didn’t believe them. Until I checked.

Fuck, man. I’ve been getting more and more desensitized to the absolute bullshit that abounds in this world, and most of the insane stuff fascists do barely registers anymore.

But this hit me like a ton of bricks, for some reason. These people are gonna gas minorities and make memes about it. What a fucking pathetic waste of atoms these assholes are.

Look at the metrics. 4.3M views, boosted hate replies. Blue check.

Twitter and propaganda like it is why this is happening.

The modern fascist terraforming plan is:

      Step 1: Flood the zone.

Step 2: Population gives up and tunes out.

Step 3: Remove all remaining checks to power.

Step 4: Purge all political and social undesirables.

The funny thing is, Stephen Miller and the rest realized they can do the steps in parallel, each one reinforcing and normalizing the others.

The most valuable and hardest thing we can do is not give up resisting. But pace yourself, find some good in the world and give it some of your attention every day. They’re relying on wearing us down.

I’ve learnt that never reading Twitter replies is actually a form of self-care. No matter how vile the tweet, the replies are always somehow an extra level of unhinged.

I’ve always felt many of these are government jobs programs for conservatives that love free markets but don’t have what it takes to survive in them.

I’m jealous of the kids that will learn about this era in school in about 60 years.

It’s going to be a really interesting social studies subject linking the rise of Web 2.0 to the fall of America

some people call me a crazy optimist when i talk about a beautiful idealistic future where in 60 years kids both exist and learn in schools

It does feel that way sometimes, but humans as a species are shockingly resilient. This isn’t the first crumbling empire we’ve had to deal with, nor will it be the last.

Sure, if by “humans are resistant” you mean that they massacred millions of us before anyone stoppped them.

It makes you ask the question, why am I participating in this society anymore? Why do I let these complete cunts jack off all over my country flagrantly? We’re all clowns together until they are ripped from their positions and thrown to tartarus.

I imagine Nazi memes would be similarly humorless to normal people, where cruelty is always the punchline.

you don’t have to imagine. their propaganda posters should genuinely be thought of as being memes. every poster is a meme that the people gluing up hope will influence the general sentiment of the people around them. internet memes are not truly new. there are merely the most common form of propaganda detritus in our current age. in the 20s-90s, this was the poster and the street tag

I think neatly curated propaganda work isn’t quite the same as an internet meme. The Richard Dawkins, Metal Gear Rising definition, perhaps. Internet memes, especially modern ones, have a crude banality if not outright absurdity to them. It’s like saying a funny home video uploaded to YouTube is essentially the same as a theatrical comedy movie release.

I don’t fully agree with that. The extreme right have definitely weaponized memes to be form of modern propaganda on a whole other level. We mock this for being a “hello fellow kids” kind of boomer attempt at memes, but it 100% works for the targeted young male adults. Just look at the demographic data for how many young males voted for this and continue to propogate their cult’s extremism across the internet.

Funniest part about working for ICE and CBP in my career. We’re how many lonely, mentally broken people worked within it. I mean literally PTSD filled nut bags. Who couldn’t work a real job. I am holding out for the coming civil war before I do anything. But trust me. These ICE bros are fragile children that just need to be punched in the face.
